2010 UK Etape Training Weekends:

12/13 June: 

Based at the Gliffaes Hotel, this weekend will focus intensively on climbing. The riding will be hard (typically 140km+ with 3,250m of vertical ascent on Saturday; 100km with 1,500m on Sunday): with 5 weeks to go before the Etape, you will be approaching the peak of your training; the seminar on Saturday evening will look at the Etape route and nutrition for the big day. The rides are fully supported and guided by a pro. Expect no mercy.


Prices: £415 - sharing a twin room; (No single rooms remaining)




19/20 June

What’s included in the price? 

- Two nights' accommodation at the Gliffaes Hotel, sharing a twin room, including pasta supper when you arrive on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and a 3-course dinner on Saturday night in the first-class restaurant. 

- Two training rides, guided by pro riders and accomplished local racers, designed to simulate the rigours of a major cyclosportive event.

- Vehicle support during the rides, providing extra water bottles, energy bars, essential spares (including wheels), medical supplies and clothes. 

- Assistance with bike assembly and mechanical support throughout the weekend. 

- Sports nutrition including drinks, bars and fruit during both rides. 

- A sports massage, post-ride on the Saturday.

- Picnic lunch on Saturday: homemade sandwiches and cakes, prepared by the hotel. 

- Transfers for you and your bike from Abergavenny railway station to the hotel. 

- An evening seminar with two 30-minute presentations on successfully riding cyclosportives.
